DAY 12
Tuesday August 22, 2006
Let’s see what this city has to offer...
You know when you get that feeling that things ain’t right - well - I was right.

Last night - based on the appearance of the room & observations of everyone in the tour - I decided it probably wasn’t a good idea to crawl under the covers - because there may already be something sleeping there. So last night I slept (and I use the term loosely) in my clothes on top of the covers of the bed.

In the morning - during breakfast - the facts came out. People were coming down with bite marks all over their bodies (bed bugs was our best guess) - some with 3 or 4. I didn’t have a shower - ‘cause who knew what was on that shower floor & there was no way to get the shower head to stay in the right place.
Well - 1 night down 3 to go - I thought - but was I tough enough?

We had a tour of Lviv planned - so right after breakfast - it was off to the bus & a trip to the centre of the city.

Our first stop was an open market - as some people still had some gifts to purchase for family & friends.

Then for lunch - people wanted to go to McDonalds - so McDonalds it was!
The interesting about McDonalds - is that it’s a predictable taste - wherever you go. The “Big Mac & Fries” tasted just like it does here in Canada.

Just outside of the McDonalds - there was a lady selling fresh buns filled with poppy seed or apple (yes I had one - with apple).
These tasted just like the ones we used to get from “Pleasant Hill Bakery” when I was a kid...
Then off for a walking tour of the city of Lviv.
Book Store near center of the city
Apartments in the city. The architecture of the buildings is quite amazing and varied...
